Logos, web graphics, print graphics.

My artistic inclinations have taken various directions over the years. In high school (in the late 70s) I took art classes and worked in a screen print shop hand-cutting film stencils with X-Acto blades. By college age I had a collection of paintings, stacks of sketchbooks, even a few small sculptures, but it was all lost in a tornado in 2000. By the mid 1980's I had put down the sketch pads in deference to musical interest. My intrigue for visual art resurfaced after the birth of my daughter, and has only grown since then, so just as is the case for building websites, my graphic work is and will always be a work in progress.

Logos

Lase Med Inc

Above  is the original Lase Med logo, hand drawn by Dr. Carpenter. This image was on the first Lase Med Inc website, and company letterhead. When we began to work on the Lase Med website, there was a preliminary version:

but we finally rebuilt it in vector format with Adobe Illustrator, with their slogan and a backing in the shape of the office sign,  and made printable vector images of the new version.

Dizzy's Grill and Bistro

We only got one instruction for the logo from Dizzy's Grill owner Darla Huie. She wanted the logo to include the painting above, painted by a close friend of hers, the original framed and hanging in the restaurant.

We decided to add the name of the restaurant to the logo with a graphic made from Darla's own handwriting. After several different ideas were sent back and forth via emails with the owner, the final result was this.

The Medical Conspiracy

The Medical Conspiracy

The logo for The Medical Conspiracy show was actually our second idea, the first involved a caduceus with evil looking snakes, but the caduceus is overdone. The one we ended up using was simply built around a stock image of a stethescope, with the contact pad replacing the letter "O."

LIESH, LAILT, NuovaDerm

Liesh Therapy

LAILT Laser Series

NuovaDerm

SInce Lase Med Inc was our first client, we have done quite a few different things for them over the years. LIESH is an acronym for LMI's patented therapy called Light Induced Enhanced Selective Hyperthermia, LAILT is the name of their proprietary laser system, and NuovaDerm refers to the recent tattoo removal and healing treatments done by Dr. Carpenter at Lase Med.

An Old School Logo

The Medical Conspiracy

Above is a scan of an old yearbook cover, from Jefferson Prep, a private school in Arkansas that closed its doors long ago. Randy attended there in the 70s. (The logo was designed by a '74 graduate named Cathy Ayres.) Through a Facebook group, this scan of this "rare" logo was obtained, and a printable vector (below) was sight-built for sharing among the JP alumni.

Yard Shark

Liesh Therapy

A similar situation arose with the branding of the Yard Shark website. The only logo in existence was on a printed business card. The card was scanned and vector tools were used to rebuild it. Lossless printable files of the logo were saved, as well as a transparency for the header of the website.

Lase Med Inc Print Ads

Lase Med Inc Print Ad

The above ad is one of many made for Lase Med Inc, for various print publications in many dimensions, using what became one of their favorite images, a stock photo which originally ran in the "Ad that Started the War, " a war waged by political and medical elites against Dr. Carpenter in Arkansas, which started the week after this ad ran in the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. This ad was made before Dr. Carpenter became disgusted with the color pink.

Lase Med Inc Print Ad

Above is another print ad for Lase Med Inc, and for The Medical Conspiracy radio show, then on Liberty News Radio, which was run in several magazines.

Lase Med Christmas Card?

This was a Christmas card sent to all of Dr. Carpenter's patients, supporters, and friends, to thank them during the time of massive slander attacks that were waged against her by the medical mainstream and their paid bloggers.

Flash Animation

Animated Menu Buttons

This is the very first "thing" I ever made with Flash, an animated button menu (with sound) for a website that never actually got built; but there are animated button menus made with the same process at LASE MED INC dot com and DIZZYS GRILL dot com. Both of these Flash menus are of course too large to display on this page, and the one below was scaled down quite a bit.

This animated "dreamcatcher" was on our first website when we were called "Simmons Business Services." It was made with multiple transparencies of our first logo.

This animation was made for the website of a band in the Little Rock area of Arkansas, a band called "Living for Lisa." Xara3D, Swish, and Adobe Flash were used together to make this.

Perpetual clipping: an "impossible" animated AD (Alien Dog) experiment done in Xara3D, that got pulled out of the recycle bin. It didn't make it to the front page, but now it's here. The animated "paw" at the bottom of the home page was also made with Xara3D and Illustrator.

Miscellaneous

Vector Sihouette

Silhouette

Done strictly for fun, this was a handmade silhouette made in Illustrator, from a photo of one of my favorite musical icons, bassist and stick player for King Crimson and Peter Gabriel, Mr. Tony Levin.

Stewie Griffin

Stewie

Stewie Griffin vector graphic made with Adobe Illustrator. (Apologies to Seth McFarlane.)

Surrounded

Silhouette

Made with Illustrator, a finite set of repeating iconic shapes (cross, hexagram, circle, vesica) in an abstract pattern. (Large image to show detail. Opens a new browser window.)

Fractal 31

Fractal art made with Apophysis fractal generator, rendered at a high resolution to show the fascinating detail. (Opens a new browser window.)

The Flying "J"

Symmetrical abstract made with Adobe Fireworks, using the "Old School Logo"  from the "Logos" gallery above. (Apologies to Cathy.)

Madness

Another abstract done with Adobe Illustrator and designer brushes.

"Bird Larva"

Another fractal made with the Apophysis generator. The resemblance to feathers was completely unintentional, and more of a fascinating "accident," but it reinforces the fact that fractal geometry is found everywhere in nature. (Large image, opens new browser window.)

Cardioid Fractal

Another Apophysis-generated fractal rendering, this time in the shape of a heart NOT found in nature. (Large image, opens a new browser window.)

Crop Circle for Lisa

Made for the Living For Lisa band website, this is a modified photo of a famous crop circle, with the L4L logo inserted into the center.

Alien Dog Logo

One of many "unused" treatments of the Alien Dog paw logo, done with Adobe Illustrator and Fireworks.

We do printable graphics, but not printing.
